We're Moving!
Friends of the Pittsburgh Urban Forest is Moving!
Our new office will be located in the storefront at 5427 Penn Avenue, with a planned move-in date of September 1st. We are very excited about having a space that is completely our own, and to move into offices that will feature some great local hardwoods--in the floor!
Our new office floor is being made by John Metzler, a local Pittsburgh woodworker at Urban Tree Forge right in Highland Park. John gives new life to trees that have been removed in the City of Pittsburgh, turning them into furniture, sculpture, flooring, and other functional wood products. Friends is proud to feature completely local flooring and to put salvaged wood to use.
Admidst all the excitement, however, we have discovered that problems with the subfloor in our new space is going to make installing our gorgeous locally-made floor a little more expensive. If you would like to make installing our new floor easier, please consider donating below.
